What an interesting day we had on Thursday, did you wake up to thunder and rain? I haven’t been that excited to get out of bed in a looooong time. I’m also a weather geek.

I’m not sure if this change in the weather is from the hurricane activity in the Pacific, but I’m excited and hopeful that 100 degree days may be behind us!! (I totally just jinxed us for October…🤦‍♂️ 🔥)

For most residents, another bank & office building are not very sexy projects, but they do play a key roll in a community. Additional professional space means more businesses locating nearby, and more good paying jobs.

Near 59th Ave & Beardsley, next to Del Taco & Discount Tire, a MidFirst Bank will be built on the corner.

In P83, the former site of McDuffy’s, which was recently demolished, will be a two-story office building. (link)

Upcoming closure

Canyon Lake is being lowered by about 54 feet for dam inspections and maintenance, exposing parts of the lakebed that normally haven’t seen daylight in decades. The lake itself is closed, but State Route 88 remains open, making this a pretty unique reason to make the drive from Arrowhead, take in the dramatically different scenery and maybe stop in Tortilla Flat while you’re out there.
