No worries, the Bloomin’ Onion isn't going anywhere! Outback Steakhouse's largest franchisee has filed for bankruptcy, and the Bell Road location in Glendale is among the restaurants affected. The good news? The restaurant will remain open and continue serving customers while the company works through the bankruptcy process. (link)
Bed Bath & Beyond is teaming up with The Container Store! The 75th Ave & Bell Road location is bringing together home essentials and organizational solutions, giving Arrowhead shoppers even more options for getting their homes in order. From kitchen gadgets and bedding to closet organizers and storage solutions, it's a welcome combination for anyone who loves a well-organized home.
Mission BBQ has officially opened its new location on Bell Road in Glendale, bringing its famous smoked brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and classic Southern sides to the Arrowhead area. If you haven't tried it yet, here's another delicious excuse to skip cooking dinner!

Loop 101 current and upcoming closures and restrictions
Eastbound Loop 101 will be CLOSED between 51st and 27th avenues from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9.
The eastbound Loop 101 on-ramps at 75th, 67th and 59th avenues also will be CLOSED.
DETOUR: Drivers may use eastbound Union Hills to connect with I-17, or to 19th Avenue to connect with eastbound Loop 101.
Eastbound Loop 101 will be narrowed to two lanes between 67th and 35th avenues from 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, to 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6. As work progresses, the following eastbound Loop 101 ramps may be CLOSED:
On- and off-ramps at 67th Avenue
On- and off-ramps at 59th Avenue
On- and off-ramps at 51st Avenue
Upcoming closures and restrictions
The eastbound Loop 101 ramp to northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane from 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18.
The westbound Loop 101 ramps to north- and southbound I-17, and the eastbound Loop 101 ramp to northbound I-17 will be CLOSED from 10 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16.
Northbound I-17 also will be narrowed to two lanes between Loop 101 and Pinnacle Peak Road.
The following northbound I-17 ramps also will be CLOSED:
Deer Valley Road on- and off-ramps
Pinnacle Peak Road off-ramp
Ongoing lane restrictions
NEW: The right lane of the eastbound frontage road (Beardsley Road) will be closed between 71st and 75th avenues through Dec. 17.
The eastbound Loop 101 frontage road is reduced to one lane between 37th and 35th avenues through early 2027.

BIRDS OF ARROWHEAD
We are lucky to have a local resident, Bruce Donaldson, who is a wonderful photographer and shares his work to the Everything Arrowhead Facebook Group most days. Thanks to him, I have begun to learn what a wide variety of interesting birds call Arrowhead home, and visit during different parts of the year.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who would love to learn more about the birds in his photos, so Bruce has graciously agreed to help educate us all!! Keep an eye out for more ‘Birds of Arrowhead’ in future newsletters.

[Glendale] Calling all budding birdwatchers! Foothills Library is hosting a free Introduction to Birding workshop with the Sonoran Audubon Society this Saturday, November 7, from 9 to 11 AM. Enjoy a guided birdwatching walk along Skunk Creek, learn to identify local birds, and get your questions answered by the experts. Loaner binoculars will be available!
[Peoria] Foodie Fest West is bringing some fall fun to the Peoria Sports Complex this Saturday, November 7th, from 4 to 10 PM! Enjoy food trucks, shopping, axe throwing, a pie-eating contest, petting zoo, kids' activities, and plenty more. Admission is just $5, kids 12 and under get in free, and parking is free too!
[Glendale] Our friend and talented Arrowhead resident Bruce Donaldson is trading his camera for a guitar tonight at Oscar's Pier 83! Stop by for some great live acoustic music, good food, and a chance to support one of our favorite local talents.
[Peoria] Campbell's Farmers Market is bringing a little extra fun to the weekend with its farmers market, featuring local vendors, fresh goodies, and live entertainment. It's a great excuse to get outside, do a little shopping, and enjoy the beautiful November weather!
The market runs Saturday, November 7, from 8 AM to 1 PM, across from Campbell's at 91st Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road.
