There is a popular new spot in the food court at Arrowhead Towne Center. Ricemill recently opened their second Arizona location and because I like to eat, a few times each day usually, I had to run to the mall and see for myself what all the hype was about.
Ricemill is more than a dining destination; it's a space where culture, community, and convenience come together. Ricemill's mission is to provide a space where customers can create memorable experiences with every bowl. Each bowl served is an invitation to join the timeless tradition of Asian rice bowls, where love and community are always the main ingredients.
Their new location is your typical food court type set up, in line with all of the ingredients laid out for you to choose from. They have a menu of set dishes you can order, or you can build your own bowl.
Not knowing too much about Ricemill, I decided to order from the menu and had the Hong Kong Popcorn Chicken, I figured it was the safest option for a first timer.
It was very good, and a good sized portion. The chicken was excellent, although I would have liked a bit more sauce for the rice & veggies. Next time I will get some extra on the side.
The real star of the show was the Passion Fruit Green Tea. Not super sweet, just the right mix and was a nice offset to my savory meal.
They had three of their own drink options in addition to the standard soda fountain choices. House Signature Milk Tea, The Passion Fruit Green Tea & Strawberry Lemonade, which must be very good because they had run out and several people tried to order it.
Not sure if I will make a second trip just to have lunch at Ricemill, but if I find myself at the mall or nearby and need to grab a bite to eat, I will definitely try it again.
