Unfortunately, Little Ray’s Pizzeria at 59th Ave & Beardsley will be closing. They are hosting a ‘closing sale’ through July 10th, if you’re in the market for anything pizza or restaurant related.

Families can kick off the new school year at Tanger Phoenix on Saturday, July 25, from 9 a.m. to noon during the 2nd Annual Back-to-School & Touch-a-Truck Event. Kids can climb aboard fire trucks, police vehicles, and other emergency equipment, enjoy face painting and games, while families are encouraged to bring school supplies to donate to the Glendale Elementary School District. A special Quiet Hour from 9 to 10 a.m. will offer a sensory-friendly experience with no horns or sirens. (link)

Young ballplayers can get back on the diamond as Arrowhead Little League has opened registration for its fall season. Fall Ball is designed to help players sharpen their skills in a fun, developmental environment, with opportunities available for a variety of age groups before the spring season returns. The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan for the following closures as part of the Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) widening project.

As Arizona's summer heat continues, the City of Glendale's Heat Relief Network is offering free cooling centers, hydration stations, and respite locations throughout the city to help residents stay safe. Several Glendale libraries, recreation centers, and community facilities are participating, and free Lyft rides to heat relief locations are available by calling 2-1-1. (link)

[Downtown Glendale] Historic Downtown Glendale is bringing holiday cheer to the middle of summer with its annual Christmas in July celebration on Saturday, July 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors can enjoy festive shopping, themed activities, make-and-take crafts, and special offers from local merchants throughout Catlin Court and Historic Downtown, all while staying cool inside the area's unique shops and restaurants. [Glendale Libraries] Experience the sights, sounds, and rhythms of Africa this summer as Glendale Public Library hosts a free African Music and Arts Village series featuring South African recording artist Baba Shibambo. The series includes live performances, storytelling, traditional instruments, interactive workshops, and cultural experiences designed for all ages at Glendale library locations.
