COMMUNITY NEWS

Flock Cameras

After our initial discussion about the new flock cameras coming to Phase 1 of Arrowhead Ranch on the Everything Arrowhead Podcast, there was some heated debate about the topic in the Everything Arrowhead Facebook Group, and admittedly, there were some people pointing out I wasn’t fully informed on how the cameras were to be used. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We were lucky to have our Vice Mayor & City Council Member Laura Tolmachoff, and Arrowhead Lakes HOA VP & Former member of Phoenix PD, Brian Kelley, join us on a follow up episode to discuss what Flock Cameras are, and how they have impacted Arrowhead Lakes, and answered a lot of our questions.

If you have any questions at all about these Flock camera systems and how they’ll be used, check out this week’s episode of the Everything Arrowhead Podcast.

EVERYTHING ARROWHEAD PODCAST

After last week’s discussion about Flock Cameras in Arrowhead Ranch, Vice Mayor Lauren Tolmachoff and Brian Kelly, VP of the Arrowhead Lakes HOA, join Nick and J.D. to clear the air and answer YOUR questions.

This episode dives deep into what Flock cameras really do — and what they don’t:

📸 What exactly is a Flock License Plate Reader (LPR) and how does it work?
🚓 How Glendale PD uses the data to solve and prevent crime.
• 💰 Who pays for these cameras — and why the HOA, not the city, foots the bill.
• 🔒 What happens to your data? Can you opt out of being recorded?
📉 How crime dropped 25% in Arrowhead Lakes since installation.
🏡 How neighborhood safety impacts home values and community security.

Vice Mayor Tolmachoff and Brian Kelly share real examples — from stolen vehicles to SWAT operations — showing how these systems have helped solve serious crimes right here in Arrowhead.

REAL ESTATE MARKET UPDATE

How is the market in Arrowhead Ranch? Let’s look at some data from October 2025.

  • 18 homes sold in Arrowhead in October. This is an 40% decrease from October 2024.

  • Price per square foot was $262.25 a 7.95% decrease from 2024.

  • The average sold price was $585,333 an increase of 2.05%.

The roller coaster for the Arrowhead Ranch market continues. The fourth quarter is typically slower, but I think the seasonality, plus uncertain economics for a lot of people has many potential buyers sitting on their hands, waiting to see if things will get better.

The small nature of the community size is a big reason for the swings in the number of sales, some months are slow, and some are busy. Some times I wonder why I track it, as there never seems to be any consistent pattern 🤣🤣

Last week’s trivia question was ‘Which Northern Arizona hotel is said to be haunted by the ghost of a bellboy who still knocks on doors to announce room service, decades after his death?’

The answer was: The Monte Vista Hotel

Legend has it that a bellboy who died in the 1950s still roams the hallways, knocking on doors and announcing “room service” to startled guests, even when no one’s there. The historic Monte Vista, built in 1927, has long been considered one of Northern Arizona’s most haunted hotels, with stories ranging from phantom bartenders to ghostly dancers in the cocktail lounge.

Pet of the Week

Meet Sonic

Sonic was surrendered to our rescue with his siblings. His family was no longer able to care for them. Mom is a Cattle dog and dad is a Shih Tzu. We aren't really sure how all that went down!

Sonic is a character! He is super playful and doesn't mind snuggling after a good play session. He is a puppy! That means there will need to be training and lots of patience!

Sonic is neutered, UTD on vaccines (two more vaccines needed), and microchipped.

Sonic is 3.5 months old and weighs 12 pounds

Learn more about Sonic and the other available pets at Paw Posse Animal Rescue.

We are partnering with Paw Posse Animal Rescue, and will be sharing a pet each week who is available for adoption. If you are thinking of getting a new pet, please consider adoption as a way to find your next best friend.

Home insurance rates up by 76% in some states

Over the last 6 years, home insurance rates have increased by up to 76% in some states. Between inflation, costlier repairs, and extreme weather, premiums are climbing fast – but that doesn’t mean you have to overpay. Many homeowners are saving hundreds a year by switching providers. Check out Money’s home insurance tool to compare companies and see if you can save.
