The City of Glendale has officially promoted Colby Brandt to Chief of Police, a move that brings both experience and local roots to the city’s top law enforcement role.
Brandt has been with the Glendale Police Department for nearly three decades, working his way up from patrol officer to assistant chief. He recently served as interim chief and has now been appointed to the position permanently.
Known for his focus on community partnerships and traffic enforcement, Brandt is also committed to supporting officer development and keeping Glendale safe through proactive policing strategies.
In addition to his professional experience, Brandt has a strong educational background and has completed several national law enforcement leadership programs. He’s a Glendale native, a former Marine, and a dedicated family man.
With Brandt at the helm, the Glendale Police Department continues its commitment to both safety and community engagement.
Brandy is a 28-year veteran of the Glendale Police Department and had been serving as interim chief for the past four months.
Brandt is a lifelong Glendale resident and second-generation law enforcement officer.
His priorities include officer development, community outreach, and improving traffic safety.
He holds degrees in public administration and homeland security, and has completed multiple leadership training programs.
A former U.S. Marine, he’s been married for 30 years and has two adult children, one serving in the Air Force.
